A Strong Foundation

Hello all,

The garage work is progressing at a pretty good pace this week. I will admit that I want it done sooner, but Tiff keeps telling me to have patience. This week has seen some transformation happening with the foundation! Just as our faith & family provides us with a strong foundation in life, our garage needs to have one as well. In this case, it comes in the form of concrete, or as A & S said "big legos".

Today, our foundation was back-filled, on Wednesday the concrete slab will be poured, and Thursday framing will begin. We are making slow but steady progress. If the rain would stay away during the week, we could have made more progress than we currently have. We cannot control mother nature, but sometimes we wish we could.

I have attached a few pictures from the foundation going in. We hope you enjoy them.

Love,

Trav, Tiff, A & S

Foundation going in.

It's like building legos.

Back wall of the garage is complete.

Looking towards the front of the garage.

Just a few more blocks to go in the center.

Backfill complete and ready for concrete.

This is the new mudroom. The dirt at the bottom will be concrete and  attached to our storage room.

Looking at the garage from the backyard. All the dirt between the foundation and the shed on the right used to be the garage. We gain 14' of backyard space. We plan to put in a dog run for Jazmyn and a new garden.

Panoramic view of how it attaches to the house.
