Hello Family and friends,
We hope that you all had a wonderful thanksgiving weekend! We spent the weekend in Duluth with the Raimos. It was both thanksgiving and Christmas. The entire family was home for the weekend. We haven't been all together for a holiday for 2 years. Addie got to meet her Uncle Ryan and Auntie Cristina for the first time! Addie absolutely adored Ryan. She thought he was a blast.
Thursday was turkey day. Grammy woke up at 4 am to start the turkey. Addie woke up shortly after 4 hungry. Ugh, her schedule is still off from day lights saving...but I digress. Thanksgiving meal was fabulous as always. Addie loved eating the mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey and rolls. All homemade of course. After dinner was over we let our food settle by opening up Christmas presents!
Christmas was a lot of fun! Addie got some puzzles that make sounds when the piece is put in its proper place. Uncle Sean won Addie a green teddy bear to match her room! He was so excited to give it to her. Nammy got her a couple of beautiful books and a cute stuffed moose. She also got a few ornaments for the Christmas tree. Lastly her cousins and auntie picked out an adorable ballet petttie skirt.
After we were done opening all of the Christmas presents, we went back to eating our desserts. Mom made 18 different types of cookies, bars and truffles, not to mention the pies. We had our fill of yummy desserts.
The best part of the night was yet to come. We moved all of the furniture in the family room and had a dance party! It was soooo much fun. Addie was singing, giggling, screaming and dancing along to the music. She took a turn dancing with everyone. We'll post some pictures a videos when we get home. It was too cute for words to say. She stayed up way past her bedtime (until 9pm) and she was such a trooper. We knew she had finally had it when she just wanted to cuddle with Mommy even though the music was still going.
Friday we just hung out, did a little bit of Black Friday shopping with the crazies. Trav decided that he was going to get a parking spot at Khols really easily. He totally cut in front of a lady who had been waiting for the parking spot. The best part was when I was looking at toys for Addie, I overheard the lady talking to her friends saying how this guy pulled into their parking spot. I started to snicker and had to walk away. We found out that Addie really likes Little People toys. So we got her a few of the Little People for her to play with in the car. Friday night we went down to Bentlyville to see the lights. It was cold and the wind was blowing in from the lake. Needless to say we had Addie bundled up so much that all you could see was her eyes...4 layers on top, 2 on bottom, hat, hood, 3 blankets and a scarf. She loved all of the lights. I'm sure she was trying to figure what it all is, but she loved looking at everything.
Saturday was picture day. We took several family portraits. First we did pictures with the 4 generations of women (Nammy, Mom, Auntie Nicole, Cousins Gwen and Evi and the two of us). Then came the pictures of the whole family. At the end we were able to get some pictures of just Addie in the winter scene and then just the 3 of us. Addie was such a trooper even though it was nap time. After the pictures we had another relaxing day. That night we had our traditional festive appetizer meal. It was so much fun. There was enough food to feed an army. Out of all of the appetizers, there are never any deviled eggs for leftovers. Oh well. This we had eggs, meatballs, egg rolls, shrimp, jalapeƱo poppers, fluff, and stuffed mushrooms.
As always it was a wonderful weekend with my family. I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend with your families and friends.
Until next time,
Love Trav, Tiff and Addie.
