5 months!

Hello All, Addie is 5 months old today. Wow time continues to fly by. Before we know it, she'll be one. Oh where, oh where does all this time go?

Addie is starting to do a few new things again. We're continuing with her solid food, aka cereal. She's doing great with it. She's finally figured out how to swallow, so it's helping on several levels. She actually eats her food now and she's not drooling as much now. However, she's still a pucker. I'm sure she'll grow out of it sooner or later. Her other couple of things that she's starting to do is suck her thumb and play with her feet. It's pretty cute.

I hope that you all have a great night.
Until next time,
Love Trav, Tiff & Addie

New Job & Photos

Hello Everyone,

I'm sure some of you have heard by now, but I have accepted a new position. Today was my last day with Fairview. I'm looking forward to starting my new job on Monday. I'll be working for Prime Therapeutics. They are a pharmacy benefit manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans. A benefit manager is the company that processes the insurance claims for your insurance company. I'll be working as a Pharmacy Compliance Auditor. The biggest change with this job is that I'll be traveling up to 1 full week a month. I'm really looking forward to this and it should be fun. Now I'm sure you're all wondering what will happen with Addie. Travis will be taking care of her. He's the only one left...although both sets of grandparents said that they'll help out and take her during those weeks. We might just come up with a nice rotation. =) I know that Addie will be great, I'll probably take it harder than her. All in all, I'm excited!

As promised, here are a few new photos of the family!

Fathers Day Weekend!

Wow how time just flies. We had a flurry of activities this past weekend. Travis was umpiring in a legion baseball tournament. The tournament was Fri-Sun. The weather cooperated for the most part. It rained on Saturday so those games were moved to Sunday. At first, the guys were a little bit concerned about getting the games all covered but it worked out in the end.

It was Trav's first fathers day. Addie & I let him sleep in for the most part. =) We decided to wake him up around 8:30 because we were excited to give him his card & gift. We made up a silly little book of coupons. The coupons are good for things like, a day of golfing, fishing, doing nothing, a date with me, a date with Addie and so on. We just had fun being creative. Trav's gift from Addi & I is a photo put onto canvas. The canvas didn't actually arrive in the mail till Tuesday but I can't complain because I saved 75% off the normal cost. Besides, it's not about the gifts anyways. That afternoon Travis umpired the championship game. Addie & I were cheering him on. I'll get a few pictures up in a little bit.

After the game was done, we headed over to one of our Umpire friends house for a BBQ. It was a great time spending the evening with all the umpires and their families. We all pitched in a brought some side dishes. I made 10 lbs of potato salad. It was quite the feat; 10lbs potatoes, 18 hard boiled eggs, 1/2 stalk celery, 1/2 lb radishes, 2 onions, and 1 jar of Mayo. Trying to get everything prepared in my tiny galley kitchen was fun. Some day I'll have a big kitchen with lots of counter space. (A girl can dream) I must say Athena (an umpire wife) made some of the best food at the BBQ. Cold Orzo salad with feta and green olives, homemade mac & cheese and then 2 homemade french silk pies. Yummy!

Addie is doing great this week. She's been a mighty trooper with all of the running around that's been going on. If we're at home, she gets tired like clock work. Come 6:15 she's fussy and wants to go to sleep by 6:30. If we're out and about, she's awake and happy as can be. Last night Trav put her to sleep after I got home at 8pm. All this pesky light business, granted I love that it's light out till 9pm but it's not conducive to putting Addie to sleep if we're not home. We keep her room nice and dark with the windows blocked out.

Until next time,
Love Trav, Tiff & Addie

P.S. Happy Fathers Day again to everyone!

Another First!

Hello everyone! I have been wanting to write a blog for so long, but Addie enjoys doing it so much that I always let her take care of updating everyone. Last night she decided that it was daddy's turn to update what has been happening here.

I think I'm going to go in a reverse order of the last week. Sunday was my first Father's Day and what a day it was!! I am so blessed to have such a loving wife and a beautiful daughter! My day started with a nice slobbery kiss and a huge smile from Addie! Tiff cooked up some eggs for breakfast, we went to church, and then I had to go umpire the championship game of the baseball tournament we had. I really enjoy umpiring, especially when I can hear Addie talking away in the stands. She keeps me smiling the whole game. After the games were complete, we had a BBQ for the umpire association. Many of the wives came out, the kids were all running around, and most everyone took a turn holding Addie.

Saturday ended up being a wash-out with rain, but before it started to really come down we were able to get through the Como Zoo. Usually we go to the MN Zoo because it is bigger and we have a pass there, but the Como Zoo is free and has different animals at it. Unfortunately, we were unable to see the baby bison that was just born last week, but we did get up close to the gorilla.  He was just chilling right on the other side of the glass wall from us, so we were within a couple of feet.

Friday Tiff and I both took the day off of work. I had to umpire the first two games of the tournament, and Tiff took the day because we didn't have daycare, so her and Addie came out to watch some baseball. It was  a nice sunny day! The games went smoothly and I had a good time. I actually had quite big audience on Friday. Tiff's family ended up coming down to watch me work a couple of games. Her parents, grandma, brother Sean, and our nieces all came down to watch. I think everyone had a good time soaking up some sun!

That's my update for now. Until next time,

Love,

Trav, Tiff & Addie

First Food!

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to share with everyone that I had my first experience trying to eat today. Mommy gave me some rice cereal. It was pretty messy. I couldn't figure out how to get my tongue to cooperate so I could swallow the cereal. I just kept pushing the cereal out of my mouth. Mommy said that they'll give me a little bit more time before they try again. She said that I did a good job. I think I might have actually swallowed 1/5 to 1/4 of the cereal. I think the cereal tasted ok...I'm not sold on it yet. Just mushy, liquidy and pretty blah tasting compared to all of the different types of flavors that Mommy normally has for me.

On a side note, the steroid cream that the doctor gave me has been great. My skin is all silky smooth just like how a little baby should be!

Mommy's going to attach some pictures, I hope that you like them.
Until next time,
Love Addie (Tiff & Trav too)

Eating my spoon was the best part of the whole experience!

Silly little girl...didn't want to open her eyes for any picture. Cute outfit from Grandma!

I love wearing all of my hair bows!

4 month check-up

Hello Family & Friends,

Yesterday it was Addie's 4 month check-up. Everything was well. She's gaining weight and growing like a weed. Her latest weight is 14lbs 8.5oz & 25 3/8th inches long so that puts her in the 75th to 90th percentile. She's doing really well.

The only thing that we're a little concerned with is her eczema. Unfortunately it's a hereditary...one more thing she's gotten from her Mommy. Hopefully she won't have the super sensitive skin that I have too. Her eczema flared up pretty bad because of the recent heat wave that we had. I think 97 & 102 degree weather would make anyone sweat too much. The doctor gave us a script for a mild steroid to use to help calm her skin and help it repair faster. I just hope that it does the trick and she gets her soft & smooth baby skin back.

Addie got another round of shots. It was close to her nap time so she was more upset that she had to lay on the table than she was getting her shots. As soon as her shots were over, I picked her up and she stopped crying promptly. Maybe she'll get a little better with each visit with her shots.

The last bit of news is that the doctor gave us the all clear to start her on solid foods!! Within the month I plan on starting her on some cereal. I can't wait for her to start eating all kinds of food. I fully plan on feeding her what we're eating. Plus she's already used to my diet. To go from a wide variety of flavors to boring cereal and single flavors doesn't sound all that appealing. Babies can learn to be adventurous with their taste buds!!

Hope you all have a wonderful evening & can enjoy the beautiful summer weather.
Until next time,
Love Tiff, Trav & Addie

Summer has arrived!!

Hello Everyone,

It's been a long time since Mommy has let me on the computer. I just wanted to tell you all about my weekend and the fun we've had. Friday night, Mommy & Daddy went to the mall to say hi to the nice people at the jewelry store to fix my great-grandpa's wedding ring that was left to Daddy. So I had to say hi to everyone there and be on my best behavior. Mommy said that I was such a good girl.

Saturday we had a very eventful day too. Mommy & Daddy went running more errands before we went to a BBQ and pool party. It was such a gorgeous day; sunny & 90! Mommy had to rub this nasty stuff all over me. She told me that it's called sunscreen. I suppose it's a good thing because it was so sunny and warm. Mommy and Daddy got to spend time with their friends and meet some new people. I got to meet Miss Mary's (one of Mommy's best girl friends) new boyfriend. I think he's a pretty cool dude. His name is David so I think I can remember that because of my Uncle David. =) He held me and I had fun drooling on him. After Mommy & Daddy had been chatting for what seemed forever...Mommy finally took me over to the pool. Mommy just stood on the step because we weren't planning on swimming. She put my feet in the water...I cringed because it was too cold for me. Daddy felt the water and said it would have been a piece of cake to jump in that pool, much warmer than Grandpa's pool.

Sunday, it was another awesome day. It was about 85 & pure sunshine again. Daddy left after breakfast to go and do an umpiring clinic and then ump a game so I got to bum around with Mommy. We went to Sam's club for a few items and then Mommy decided to stop at Home Depot to get some flowers & herbs. I had a fun time looking at all of the cool flowers. Lots of people in the outdoor nursery were smiling at me because I had on my awesome sunglasses. Mommy & I picked out some fun flowers...Gerber Daisies, African Daisies, Petunias, Impatients, & then a couple other kinds that Mommy thought were pretty but doesn't know the name of. Mommy had to rush home to drop everything off because Daddy called to let us know that the game was moved up an hour. We made it out there with just enough time to spare to wish Daddy good luck and for him to give me a few kisses. Mommy set up a nice little shade area on the bleachers with a big umbrella. I just learned what those are today. Watching Daddy umpire was a lot of fun. I was talking & cheering for Daddy through the whole game. Daddy said he could hear me and it made him laugh. After the game, Mommy & I went back home and sat on the porch to plant the flowers. Mommy made such a mess and I sat in my bumbo watching her & learning how to plant flowers. We had such a good time; I was just talking away and looking around at everything. Daddy made dinner tonight which was a fun surprise for Mommy. Daddy made steak marinated in a mesquite lime sauce with corn & baked potatoes. Way to go Dad!!

Well it's much past my bedtime so I better get going to bed...I hope you all have a wonderful week. I'm headed to the doctor for my 4 month check up. I'll let you know how everything turns out.

Until next time,
Love Adelaide (Mommy & Daddy too)
