We had a wonderful time over the long Christmas weekend with Gramy & Granpy. We got to see all of the family and show off Baby Sydney to everyone. Saturday night there was a party at Gramys house. Almost all of the Raimo extended family came. We all had a lovely time visiting and catching up. We even took a picture of all of the new 2012 babies...a total of 5! After the party was over, we all packed up the cars and drove down to the River. When we arrived there was a little bit of an issue with the thermostat. The house was at 41 degrees. It was pretty chilly in the house. Granpy made a roaring fire to help warm up the house and checked the furnace. We had to have a repair man come out to the house on Christmas eve.
Sunday was a fun day. We went to a special farm outside of Siren to go on a sleigh ride. It was really cool to be there. I loved seeing the horses. Daddy carried me and let me pet the horses. Mommy said that I can take horse riding lessons the summer after I turn 3 if I still want to ride. I'm too little to do it this year. We had a blast on the sleigh. Cousin Gwen and Evi sat up front by the driver while the rest of us sat in back. Sydney slept through the whole ride. It took about 45 minutes for the ride. Mommy and I sang songs during most of the ride. My favorite Christmas song is Jingle Bells. I thought it was fitting to sing since we were on a sleigh ride! We wove our way thru the woods and fields. The best part of the ride was when the horses galloped up the hill. It was a fairly steep hill and the horse just took off when we got to it. The driver explained that the horses love to run up the hill because when they were little they had to in order to make it up the hill and they've done it ever since then. We ended the ride by going into a warming room and having hot coco, cookies and candy canes.
Monday we just hung out at the house and had fun playing outside. Daddy and I went sledding down the big hill twice. I can see why everyone loves to do it. It'll be lots of fun when I'm bigger and can go down the hill by myself!
Christmas day we woke up with lots of anticipation. Uncle David was flying up from FL. He had to finish up his show of White Christmas. We got to open our presents that morning. We're pretty lucky little girls to get such lovely presents. =) Unfortunately we had to go home that night because Daddy had to work the next day. We had a very wonderful time!!
Until next time,
