Hi Family and Friends,
Mommy, Gramy, Sydney and I all took a trip to Huntsville, Alabama. We went down there with Mommy for work. Sydney was too little to be away from Mommy yet. It was really exciting. We woke up at 3am on Monday morning and got to the airport by 4:30am. We made it through security and got to our gate with only a minor hiccup. There was a TSA security lady who wasn't a morning person checking all of our id's. Oh well, not everyone can be happy in the morning. Soon we were on the plane and off to Denver. The transition stop went really smooth. I got to sit in front of the stroller while Sydney laid in the back. We made it to our gate in time to board the plane first again!
We made it to Huntsville just fine. The fun began once we actually got there. Mommy called ahead to ensure that the rental car company would have a toddler car seat for me. Sure enough when we got there, they didn't have any. The lady at the rental company tried to give Mommy a booster seat. That wasn't going to fly and highly illegal. We finally got a manager involved and she told us to go to Wal-Mart and buy a car seat. That really made Mommy upset but that's what she did. At least the rental car company paid for the car seat. Gramy, Sydney and I stayed at the airport while Mommy went to buy me a car seat. Once Mommy came back from Wally world, we were finally on our way!
Mommy picked out a great hotel for us to stay in. The public library was across the street, a walking park to the left, and several museums within walking distance. Sydney and I had such a fun time. Every morning we would go downstairs to a yummy hot breakfast with Gramy and go do things or play all day while Mommy was off at the pharmacies. Then at night we got to go out and about in Huntsville. Mommy showed us all of the big multi-million dollar brick homes in the wealthy suburbs. We went to a local cupcake store...Gigi's Cupcakes (they were on Cupcake Wars). They were so good. We also drove through the Old Town area. This is where they have all of the historic Antebellum homes in Huntsville. Mommy and Gramy really loved looking at the houses. I didn't see what all the fuss was about...but I'm little so maybe I'll grow up to appreciate them when I get bigger.
My favorite thing was going to the Early Works Childrens Museum. Mommy was down with work early and we got to hang out at the Museum for several hours. The entire museum was made for children. I got to play and touch anything and everything in the museum. There were 2 different play areas. One area was showing toys in the old days and comparing them to new toys. The other play area was a learning area. There was a whole farm, grocery store, pond to fish in and a station to play all types of puzzles. The main area of the museum was a historical area. There were different "buildings and houses" that showed how people used to live. I got to explore a river boat. It was even in water!!
Here's just a few pictures from our trip to AL.
Until next time,
Love Adelaide & Sydney (Trav & Tiff too)
