Hi Family and Friends,
So I snuck out of bed to tell you all about my birthday parties! I'm such a lucky little girl because I had 3, that's right, 3 birthday parties!
The first party was on my birthday. I brought little cupcakes to celebrate with all of the kids at day care. It was a lot of fun. All the kids wished me a Happy Birthday and some of the older girls colored pictures with me. Then in the evening it was just Mommy, Daddy and me. We had a yummy dinner...but I really didn't care about the dinner because I wanted the cake! The nice people at Lund's make 1st Birthday cakes for free. So Mommy couldn't turn down getting a free cake. It was so much fun with all of the polka dots on it. I just poked at the frosting and didn't really want to eat any of the cake.
My second party was on Sat. 11 at Oma & Opa's house. We got out there before lunch time to help with any last minute cleaning and to set up. I was such a good girl. I ate my lunch before everyone started to arrive. This party was for all of my MN family and friends. Lots of people came to the party and we had a lot of fun. Mommy and Daddy had lots of yummy treats for everyone. Ice cream sundaes with home-made hot fudge, root beer floats, punch, candy, and Oma had a beautiful cake. I had so much fun playing with all of the tissue paper. I know I'm supposed to like what's under the tissue paper but it was a lot of fun ripping the paper to shreds. I got lots of fun musical toys, some cute outfits and books!! I always read books before bed, so I like having new ones to switch things up. Great Grandma Irene made me another beautiful Norwegian sweater. One of my favorite toys was a musical walker. I cruise all over the house with it by myself! It was such a busy afternoon and I couldn't take a nap even if I tried. By the time we were ready to go home, I could barely keep my eyes open. I fell asleep before we even got to the main road. Thanks so much to everyone who made my day at Oma and Opa's wonderful.
My third party was the following Saturday in Ripon at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I was able to spend the whole week with Grandma and Grandpa while Mommy and Daddy were traveling for work. Everyone started to arrive in the afternoon. It was lots of fun to see all of Daddy's family. I got a lot of new clothes for my birthday!! I love dressing up and having a lot of variety in my wardrobe. I had a lot of fun playing and riding on my new Princess car. It has so many buttons to push. My most special gift is my first American Girl doll! She even came with her own backpack so I can carry her with me everywhere. Mommy says I need to be just a little bit bigger before I can handle wearing the backpack. After the presents, we all had dinner all together. Then came the cake! Uncle TJ had the nice people at his bakery make a special Ladybug cupcake for me. I love eating that one and getting all of the black frosting all over my face. Everyone else got to have an ice cream cake from DQ. It had lots of Lady bugs on it too!
It was such a wonderful birthday week. I got a lot of beautiful clothes, fun toys, good books and special presents. I'm so blessed.
Well I better get back in bed. Mommy wouldn't like it if she found me on the computer this late.
Until next time,
Love Adelaide (Mommy & Daddy too)
